"I write about the people history tried to erase—
the operators, schemers, builders, and survivors who shaped Florida
before anyone was paying attention."
About the Author
Roz Stevens
Roz Stevens writes historical crime fiction set in early twentieth-century Florida—a time and place where organized crime, land speculation, racial politics, and raw ambition collided in ways most history books leave out.
Her nine-book series, Grit, Gamble & Grace, follows Jerome "Redbone" Blake from the bolita lottery floors of early Miami through three decades of power, corruption, and consequence. The series draws on buried histories of Black communities, gambling syndicates, and the ruthless land deals that built modern South Florida.
Roz lives in Florida, where the history she writes about is still underfoot.
